We’re a handful of fellow survivors of the Troubled Teen Industry (TTI), working to strengthen a resilient and sacred community of people who once felt they had to navigate their experiences alone. We’re here to raise awareness about the misuse of the word “treatment” to describe practices that can leave young people humiliated, invalidated, confused, or deeply harmed. We recognize the lasting impact these experiences can have—and the confusion that can arise when institutional loyalty is placed above a young person’s own reality. Our purpose is to bring survivors together, validate one another, and create a space where everyone has the freedom to be heard: the good, the bad, and the ugly. Your truth is your truth. You don’t have to minimize it, explain it away, or conform to someone else’s version of what happened. Ultimately, we are truth-seekers who share a profound love for the community born from some of the darkest moments of our youth. We believe survivors can hold complicated feelings, conflicting memories, and different perspectives while still standing together. No curated obedience. No screaming interventions. No silencing. No cults. Just fellow survivors, truth, accountability, care, and understanding. We’re out of the box.
